For that reason, I recommend opting for the Dark Star (AT&T) network if you have solid AT&T coverage near you.

This TextNow plan offers a measly 20GB of full-speed data for a whopping $35.99/month. Their most interesting perk is free calls to Canada. This is a hard pass.
Truly Unlimited plan from Simple Mobile
Despite costing $47.50/month, this Simple Mobile plan still includes deprioritization during network congestion. Add in a modest hotspot allowance and no other perks, and it quickly becomes an unappealing plan.

Not all unlimited plans are the same. While all unlimited plans technically offer unlimited data throughout a given month, the way they deliver that data varies depending on the carrier and plan. Some plans may have truly unlimited high-speed data, while others may have a limited allotment of high-speed data, then unlimited data at potentially slower speeds.
There are other distinctions too—in speed, priority windows, perks, and more—so it's crucial to understand what you're getting before you activate. Here's what to seek out (and what to avoid) when shopping for the best unlimited plan for you.

If you get an unlimited plan, your data will never completely stop. After all, we love Mint's Unlimited plan, which includes a low rate for the first three months of service. But introductory pricing does require you to know what the future price will be and if it's worth keeping the plan once the real price hits. - The size of the mobile hotspot allowance.
The best unlimited plans come with generous mobile hotspots, which allow you to turn your cell phone plan into a portable Wi-Fi router. We recommend purchasing unlimited plans with dedicated mobile hotspot amounts, especially if you game or work remotely, and suggest plans with at least 20GB of dedicated hotspot data.
